Internal Medicine Associates is the practice of Drs. Bignal, Cornett, Coss, Rao, Tetrick, and Tielker. All are board certified in internal medicine.

Doctors of internal medicine, often called internists, focus on adult medicine. They care for patients from their teenage years through old age. Internists are unique in that they have had special study and training that focuses on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and post-graduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases that affect adults.

Internists are sometimes referred to as the doctor’s doctor, because they are often called upon as consultants to other physicians to solve puzzling diagnostic problems.

We are also proud to offer you the services of three highly skilled nurse practitioners. The professionals are experienced registered nurses who have completed advanced academic education that has prepared them to assume some of the diagnostic and treatment responsibilities traditionally reserved for physicians.

Our nurse practitioners maintain a focus on primary care and work closely with our doctors to provide individualized attention. Their role may include patient health assessment, physical examinations, prescription authorization, development of diagnosis, interpretation of lab results, treatment of minor and acute conditions, as well as management of patients with chronic diseases.
